1967
1967
Polish in a beer bottle.
Kamal Brand wood polish was first sold in beer bottles. Simple glass, a paper label, and a polish that carpenters came back for.
1970s
Known by the bottle.
From one workshop to the next, the bottle travelled on reputation alone. Carpenters recognised it on the shelf before they read the label.
1980s
The carpenter's kit.
Wudco Sanding Sealer and NC Thinner joined the polish, so a craftsman could prepare, thin and finish with one name he trusted.
1990s
A pack of our own.
The beer bottle gave way to Kamal's own packaging. The polish inside stayed exactly the same.
2000s
From wood to walls.
Suprime wall primer, Snowfin for interiors and Wallfin for exteriors carried the same care from the furniture to the walls around it.
2010s
Restore and protect.
Unipeel, Silicate Paint, Damproof Coating and the water-based WudPrime Plus primer: finishes for surfaces that deserve a second life.
2026
Still perfecting.
In our lab now: a 2K PU finish for interior and exterior wood, and water-based base and top coats. Fifty-nine years on, the same standard.
